As bloggers, we are always on the lookout for inexpensive and effective ways to increase our blog traffic.  One way to accomplish this is by posting to forums within our niche.  Becoming an active contributor to a forum not only gets your blog's name out there but also shows  that you can provide great advice, interesting thoughts and added benefit.  If forums readers like what they see, they may decide to visit your blog to see what else you have to offer.



It's important that you find forums which allow you to include a signature line.  The signature line is where you can add the pertinent information such as your name, blog name and link to your blog.  Forums that don't have a signature line may not want you to post this information within the body of your forum as it may appear to be spam.  That's another thing... don't spam.  Forum moderators are on the lookout for spammy posts and more than likely your post will be deleted and your membership could potentially be canceled.

When you find a forum within your niche (we'll discuss how to find one in the moment), browse through some of the latest conversations to see if there is anything that interests you.  Perhaps someone is posing a question on how to do something that you have an answer to.  Reply to their question with a well thought out, thorough answer and make sure that you've include your signature line.  Or perhaps someone has posted about a topic which you are also interested in.  Reply to that post and share your experience and again be sure to include your signature line.

The first day I posted to a forum, my page views increased by 50% for that day.  This is why it's important to try and post to forums three times a week.  I have about three different forums that I participate in related to each of my blogs.

How Do I Find Forums?

The easiest way I discovered to find forums is to perform a search in Google for your niche topic and include the word, "forum."  For example, for my mom and family related blog, I entered, "mom forum."  And I received a list of forums.  I then choose the top three that (1) allowed me to have a signature line and (2) I felt comfortable with and appeared to be of high quality.

Okay, your task for today is to locate three forums within your niche.  Then set up a schedule so that you can visit these forums at least three days a week to contribute to.  Hopefully, if forum readers view you as an expert in your field or provider of useful information, they'll head over to your blog to read more.
